Background on the project
This project is looking at creating an animated lyrical video for "I'm only joking" by the Kongos. The goal is to explore kinetic typography as well as the creation of concepts.
The inspiration for the project came from the eerie and mystical sound of the song, which explores disillusionment and perception. In today's world we here and see things that we are never certain to be true. On these things we process we shape our actions and response even if we don't necessarily have all the answers. I wanted to create this in the sense of the moon, which can bring both good and bad luck according to maritime lore.
The video explores the challenge between the moon goddess and the villainous moon, and how those view it and respond, while the lyrics shape and challenge those perceptions.
